AR F1 Car Reveal

OVERVIEW
The Red Bull F1 car reveal is a big moment for every F1 fan; anticipation is high as it’s something they have been waiting for all year round. We wanted to reward the wait by giving fans a first-of-a-kind opportunity to explore the car firsthand through augmented reality. 

THE EXPERIENCE
The Arcadia team created an AR experience where fans can place the Redbull Racecar anywhere in their world and watch as the car cover is pulled off to reveal the newest Red Bull design. Fans anywhere in the world can then walk around the car, get up close and see every detail of the vehicle. They also have the opportunity to try on the latest Redbull Racing gear in selfie mode.

We created a hype video prior to the launch of the experience that would tease the reveal of the car and get fans pumped for the experience.

Design Inspiration

Pulling inspiration from F1 video games and graphics, we created a custom look and feel tied to the Redbull Racing visual style guide. Below is some of the inspiration we used for the UI elements and final Snapchat lens.

The Process

The lens team at Snap wanted the car model to be as realistic as possible. They spent time meticulously reworking and refining the car to be as close to a real-life-replica as possible.

The Lens

We enhanced the F1 racecar’s look and feel by including sound and realistic tire track simulation on any surface the user puts the experience on.

Marketing Visuals

We created marketing key visuals that helped to promote the experience on and off Snapchat channels.
