Long Live Montero Augmented
OVERVIEW
Lil Nas X didn’t have an opening act for his Long Live Montero tour, but he wanted to keep his fans entertained while they waited for the show to start. The Arcadia team was asked to create an engaging experience that could entertain concertgoers and get them hyped before and during the show.
THE EXPERIENCE
Our team was asked to create 3 core AR experiences:
Play Bill Augmented: A pre-show AR experience launched from the playbill that builds on the cover design. A breathtaking experience that keeps fans engaged and anticipation high as they wait for the show to begin.
Lil Nas X Transcending: Built through a first-of-its-kind Augmented Reality experience, this experience brings to life the Lil Nas X transformation story. Designed to captivate fans over the 70 min performance – creating moments of shared awe and wonder.
Montero Wings of Friendship: A Montero wings selfie + world lens experience recreates Nas’s butterfly wings. Best experienced with friends at the show, the wings flutter elegantly behind fans while releasing a kaleidoscope of butterflies.

Design Direction
We worked closely with Nas’ creative team, who gave us unprecedented access to their vision for his Montero tour. We focused on prismatic colors and vibrant lighting effects Nas is known for and brought in elements of sparkle and reflectivity to make the experience really shine in AR.
